Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Shortwav Labs products, services, and website. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing, downloading, or using any Shortwav Labs product or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use our products. These terms apply to all users of our website, including visitors, customers, and licensees.

2. License Grant

Upon completing a purchase, Shortwav Labs grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the purchased software on up to three (3) machines simultaneously. This license is personal to you and tied to your Shortwav Labs account. You may not sublicense, sell, rent, lend, or otherwise transfer the license to another person.

3. Permitted Use

You may use our plugins in personal, commercial, and broadcast projects without restriction. This includes music production, film scoring, advertising, and any other audio production context. No royalties or additional fees apply to output created using our plugins.

4. Restrictions

You may not: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software; (b) modify or create derivative works based on the software (except where source code is explicitly provided under an open-source license); (c) remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels; (d) use the software to develop a competing product; or (e) share, distribute, or upload the software to any file-sharing platform.

5. Free & Open-Source Modules

The Shortwav Labs VCV Rack modules (ReGrandy and Tapestry for VCV Rack) are released as free, open-source software under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPL v3). Use of these modules is governed by the GPL v3 license, the terms of which supersede this section. The source code is available on GitHub.

6. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plugins. If a plugin does not function as described in your DAW environment despite reasonable troubleshooting, contact support within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear. Refunds are not available after 14 days.

7. Updates & Upgrades

All purchases include free updates within the current major version (e.g., all v1.x updates). Major version upgrades (e.g., v1 to v2) may be offered at a discounted upgrade price but are not guaranteed to be free. We reserve the right to discontinue a product or version at any time, with reasonable notice.

8. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised access to your account.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our products are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every DAW or operating system configuration. Your use is at your own risk, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shortwav Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our products. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
